Position Information Job Title: Student Assistant - Fall 2026 Department: Residence Life and Housing Office

Job Description: Duties: Performance of simple repetitive office tasks, little or no experience, minor responsibilities, and must have the ability to work independently and ability to complete daily work tasks.

Days and Hours Needed: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., 20 hrs a week during semester Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the semester

Campus Location: Bldg. Residence Life and Housing - Winchell Hall

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and to complete daily work tasks without daily direction from supervisor.
  • Must be a SUNY Cortland Student

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Efficient with spreadsheets and Microsoft Word as well as scanning and copying multiple papers.

Physical Demands:

  • Physically lifting and carrying bags of shredding for recycling
  • Shredding multiple sheets of paper
  • Breaking boxes down to recycle
  • Cleaning/wiping down office counters and tables

Special Conditions for Eligibility:

  • 2 letters of reference from most current direct supervisors
