Position Introduction:
The School of Biological Sciences is looking for a student assistant in the Microbiology Media Preparation Center to assist with the preparation of media used in laboratory classes.
Duties will include:
- Assist the MPC technician as needed
- Help in the preparation of media used in microbiology laboratory classes
- Assist in the cleaning, organizing and restocking of the MPC
- Assist in the safe disposal of used media and consumables from laboratory classes
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
- Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
- Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
Skills:
- Must be able to follow precise recipes/instructions in English
- Be able to complete repetitive tasks efficiently and effectively
- Basic understanding of chemistry/chemicals is helpful
