Position Description:
The Multimedia Communications Student Assistant supportsUniversity Student Housing's Marketing & Communications team through content creation, digital storytelling, multimedia production, and student engagement initiatives.
This position serves as a creative and adaptable member of the MarCom team and assists with a variety of communications, marketing, and production needs across multiple platforms. The student assistant will support visual storytelling efforts through photography, videography, social media content, graphic design, event coverage, and promotional initiatives.

Major/Essential Functions:
Assisting with photography and videography for residence hall programs, events, campaigns, and departmental initiatives.
Creating and editing multimedia content for social media, digital signage, presentations, promotional materials, and marketing campaigns.
Assisting with basic graphic design and video editing using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
Supporting on-camera content creation including social media videos, interviews, reels, promotional campaigns, and student features.
Assisting with social media content development, trend research, and digital engagement efforts.
Supporting event coverage and promotional outreach initiatives across University Student Housing.
Collaborating with professional staff and student team members on communications and creative projects.
Assisting with organization and maintenance of digital media assets and marketing materials.
Participating in brainstorming sessions and contributing creative ideas for campaigns and student engagement initiatives.
Supporting occasional evening or weekend events as needed.
Performing other duties as assigned.

Schedule varies; can be created by student, but must be between the house of 8-5

Preferred Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of DSLR cameras, photography, and/or videography.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, etc.) and Canva
Comfortable appearing on camera and participating in video or social media content.
Public speaking and presentation skills.
Interest in marketing, communications, public relations, visual communications, advertising, journalism, digital media, or related fields.
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital storytelling trends.
Creative mindset with a passion for content creation and student engagement.
