Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking Student Assistants for the Department of Urban-Global Public Health within the School of Public Health (SPH) located in Newark, NJ. The Student Assistant will serve as an assistant on a Peer-to-Peer degree marketing pilot project. Student will be responsible for promoting a specific Rutgers School of Public Health degree to various peer audiences by providing information on the degree, personal experiences, and ways to learn more.

Duties include:

  • Serve as a student ambassador for pre-identified Rutgers School of Public Health degrees and programs across onlineand community-based forums.
  • Engage authentically in relevant digital spaces (i.e., subreddits, social media groups, virtual communities) to shareexperiences and answer questions about the program.
  • Promote program highlights, application deadlines, events, and student life in a peer-to-peer tone

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be a current Rutgers' student.
  • Must be motivated and detail-oriented; have exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills; and be able to work independently.
  • Should have high digital literacy and ability to identify virtual venues with strong potential for student recruitment and research dissemination.
  • Must be communicative regarding progress on any assigned tasks and very responsive to e-mail.

  • Students are expected to work a consistent 5-20 hours/week. With a maximum of 50 hours per semester.
