Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Neuroscience within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).

The primary purpose of the Student Assistant position is to determine the role of hepatic calcium signaling in maintaining euglycemia under stress conditions, under direction of the PI, Dr. Bartlett. The Student Assistant will perform and assist with laboratory experiments and procedures in support of research activities for their master's thesis.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Maintains a C57Bl6 IP3R1 KO and WT mouse colony.
  • Weigh the experimental mice weekly
  • Performs glucose tolerance, insulin tolerance, and cold-induced stress tolerance tests.
  • Harvests tissue and serum for biochemical, protein, and RNA analysis.
  • Maintains lab notebook and experimental records.
  • Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

FLSA Nonexempt Grade 99H Salary Details Minimum Salary 15.92 Mid Range Salary 75.00 Maximum Salary 150.00 Offer Information
