Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant (Summer 2026) within the Rutgers Health Office of Clinical and Health Affairs- Office of Population Health.

The Student Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the Office of Population Health, with a primary focus on the Rutgers Health Service Corps (RHSC). This role includes assisting the Special Projects Coordinator with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and initiatives; supporting student recruitment and engagement efforts; coordinating and tracking service activities; and contributing to administrative and data management functions. The Student Assistant will also support additional population health initiatives across the Office, as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Supports the operations of the Rutgers Health Service Corps (RHSC) by participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of its activities and initiatives, such as the PHOENIX high school summer program.
  • Assists with general administrative tasks including student recruitment and engagement, data tracking, and coordination of service-learning activities and volunteer opportunities.
  • Provides support for additional population health initiatives across the Office of Population Health.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers' regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Must be a Current Rutgers student.
Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers and team members.
  • Interest in public and population health and community-based work.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Canva is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Rutgers Health Service Corps (RHSC) is preferred.
