    Minimum Qualifications:

    Students interested in applying must be a current JSSOM MD or PA student in good academic and professional standing. Indicators of good standing include:

    • No history of professionalism issues.
    • No course remediations.
    • Score of 70 or higher on all course exams.
    • Performance feedback from JSSOM faculty and/or staff may be considered.
    • Previous experience with teaching, tutoring, or mentoring is preferred.
    • MD Eligibility: rising MS2s, rising MS3s, and rising MS4s.
    • PA Eligibility: rising second years (PAS-2)
    • Students who currently have a UTMB GA, TA, or Federal Work Study position are ineligible to hold the tutoring position.

    Job Duties:

    The MD and PA Peer Tutors are part-time, with the expectation that they will work a minimum of 5 hours per month. They organize and host weekly group tutoring sessions for MS1, MS2, and PA-S1 coursework throughout the academic year. They also hold one-on-one tutoring sessions as requested by MS1, MS2, MS3, and PA-S1 students. The position runs through the academic year.

    Salary Range:

    Commensurate with experience.
