Job Details:
McCombs School of Business is looking for a reliable, organized, and initiative student employee to provide support for the Human Resource Department at the McCombs School of Business.
The Human Resources department supports McCombs faculty, staff, and student employees throughout their employment cycle. HR coordinates and supports various processes, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, hourly payroll, timesheet management, staff development, performance management and evaluation, strategic planning, separations, and other related tasks. Our team manages databases, analyzes reports, writes communications, advises staff on policies, and connects them with campus resources. The Student Associate for Human Resources will support our team and the above-mentioned processes.
This position supports the day-to-day operations and special projects of the McCombs Human Resources team and the Dean's Office. This includes but is not limited to:
Maintaining records and information in physical files as well as online storage systems such as UT Box, Microsoft SharePoint, and Workday
Answering phones when occasionally covering for the McCombs Dean's Office Front Desk
Managing probationary reviews for full-time staff on Workday
Processing background checks
Processing job changes for part-time staff and volunteers on Workday
Working with Excel and Word to manage data and information
Handling sensitive information with utmost confidentiality
Audit staff timesheet submissions
Audit student employee onboarding tasks
Special projects as assigned
Sending out monthly reminders to hourly employees to submit their timesheets
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must be a University of Texas at Austin student, enrolled for at least 6 credit hours
Can commit to a set schedule based on class availability from M – F, 8 am to 5 pm
Is adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues
Possesses strong interpersonal skills
Communicates clearly with employees and HR team members
Can prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently
Can work independently
Is organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
Is dependable, able to follow instructions, and responds to management's directions
Is willing to be mentored and motivated to improve performance through management feedback

Schedule Work Shift:
