Student-Athlete Academic AdviserThe Student-Athlete Academic Adviser is a valuable member of the Morgan Academic Center (MAC) team and will directly report to the Senior Associate Director of the MAC.Primary ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the academic support and counseling services for the women's basketball team and additional assigned sports teams, which involves tracking and monitoring student‑athlete academic progress and eligibility.Communicate student‑athlete academic progress to coaching staff, athletic administration, and MAC Director.Teach one section of the student‑athlete first‑year seminar course.Supervise, train, and evaluate part‑time wage payroll staff.Meet with prospective student‑athletes and families, as required.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director and Senior Associate Director, requiring frequent collaboration with the MAC Director, Senior Associate Director, and University staff such as Admissions, Registrar, and ICA Compliance.This position will be filled at the Supervisor or Intermediate Professional level. Evening and weekend hours will be required.The role requires adherence to NCAA, Big Ten Conference rules, and Penn State University regulations affecting the sport and the University.Preferred QualificationsA master's degree or higher in counselor education, college student personnel, sports management, social work, education, higher education administration, or a related discipline.Minimum Education, Work Experience & Required CertificationsIf filled as Student Athlete Adviser – Supervisor: Master's Degree, 3+ years of relevant experience, no certifications required.If filled as Student Athlete Adviser – Intermediate Professional: Master's Degree, 1+ year of relevant experience, no certifications required.About the Morgan Academic CenterThe Morgan Academic Center strives to provide comprehensive learning services that help all student‑athletes reach their potential while achieving academic and athletic excellence.
