The Integrated Health & Aging Program (IHAP is one of the largest inpatient geriatric mental health units in the country, designed to support older adults facing psychiatric challenges later in life. Acknowledging the high rates of coexisting conditions, IHAP's multidisciplinary team is expertly equipped to address chronic health conditions and basic activities of daily living alongside psychiatric treatment, ensuring a truly comprehensive, person-centered care approach.

We are looking for motivated and compassionate Student Behavioral Associates (SBA to join our IHAP team! In this hands-on role, you will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to provide vital medical and psychiatric care to patients. Position Specifics:

  • Work Schedule: Casual position, primarily weekend shifts: day/evening/night weekends

  • Will include rotating holidays.

  • We are unable to work around extended holiday and summer breaks.

  • Pay Rate: $19.00 (Set Rate

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care & Assistance:

  • Assists with physical care, clinical interventions & daily activities.

  • Documentation & Communication:

  • Document in medical records.

  • Communicate with treatment team regarding patient observations & care.

  • Safety & Crisis Management:

  • Maintain a safe environment.

  • Effectively manage crises using positive approaches.

  • Team Participation & Environment Maintenance:

  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings.

  • Ensure a safe & clean milieu.

  • Professional Development:

  • Stay up to date on technology, best practices and hospital compliance policies.

  • Current full-time enrollment in an accredited school in healthcare related baccalaureate (Nursing and Psychology preferred. Other majors will be considered.

  • OR-

  • Current full-time enrollment in a diploma, Associate, or Bachelor level nursing program.

  • Must be available and agree to work weekends and holidays.

  • Must be able to work overtime as required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

CCM training is required within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
