The student employee supports Cataloging and Metadata Department personnel.

This position is to begin as soon as agreed upon for the semester. No more than 20 hours per week is allowed for all combined student positions. Please keep this in mind when applying for this position.

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Shifts: Flexible and scheduled around your classes

Hourly Pay Rate: $10/hour

Hours required: A minimum of 8 hours per week, up to a maximum of 12 hours per week

We are looking for a student with strong organizational skills and a willingness to learn.

Spanish knowledge is very helpful.

  • Previous library work experience is not required.

Typical job duties vary and may include:

  • Pack materials for outsourcing and create shipping lists;
  • Unpack, receive, sort, and route incoming materials and returned materials;
  • Perform basic searches and verify physical items against bibliographic records in library databases and systems;
  • Occasionally prepare physical items for in-house processing (including applying labels, barcodes, property stamps, and protective covers);
  • Occasionally pulling, sorting, and shifting books to make room for new materials;
  • Follow instructions, pay close attention to detail, and assist with special departmental projects.
