    The opportunity

    The Community Standards Office at SNHU is seeking a dedicated and responsible student employee to assist with the office's daily operations. General duties include clerical tasks such as filing, scheduling meetings, answering calls, and assisting students and staff who frequent the office. This position mainly supports the Community Standards Office, and the student worker may also be asked to assist the Campus Accessibility Office with special projects as needed. Our student employees play an essential role in helping us build community and support the office's mission to uphold university policies and promote a safe and respectful campus environment. This position provides valuable experience in raising awareness about university policies, organizing events, and developing ongoing marketing and communication strategies to educate our students about our policies.

    Job Responsibilities

    Administrative Duties:

    • Greet visitors to the office and assist them with requests and questions
    • Assist with all clerical duties, including answering the telephone, transferring calls, scanning and filing documents, sorting mail, message taking, data input, copying, filing, etc.
    • Schedule appointments and manage calendars for Community Standards staff.
    • Organize and maintain pieces of confidential student records and files.
    • Assist with large departmental projects and programs throughout the year
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Event and Program Support:

    • Plan 1 -2 events per semester and coordinate educational programs and workshops related to community standards and student conduct.
    • Assist with logistics for events, including reserving spaces, setting up materials, and promoting events to the campus community.
    • Participate in outreach efforts to educate students about university policies and community standards.

    Research and Special Projects:

    • Conduct research on Community Standards and successful educational events
    • Assist with developing and implementing new initiatives and projects aimed at improving the student conduct process.
    • Assist in the collection and analysis of data for reports and presentations.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Must be a full-time enrolled student in an Undergraduate, Graduate, or English Language Learning programs at SNHU
    • Must be in good conduct standing at the time of hire and throughout employment. Students with a previous conduct history will be considered on an individual basis
    • Must be comfortable answering telephones, directing phone calls, and taking messages
    • Effective evidence of strong oral and written communication skills, an ability to work independently
    • Flexibility, creativity, maturity in judgment, and ability to work with a variety of constituents are also important in this role
    • Working knowledge of concepts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion

    Work Schedule

    Hours: 10 hours per week, Mon-Fri 8am-6pm

    Compensation

    The hourly pay range for this position is $13.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
