Hours: Mon-Thursday 9am–5pm; Friday: 9am–4pm (per availability)

Workload: 8-16 hrs. /week. These hours are subject to change depending on workload needs as UCLA increases the campus population.

 

ASUCLA Student Design & Production Assistant

The ASUCLA Marketing Department is seeking a student graphic design & production assistant to help with various ASUCLA Marketing Campaigns.

 

This Assistant will be able to assist on-staff Graphic Designer Manager to design promotional campaigns in print and digital media, direct mail, retail displays, and logo design. Assistant will adhere to visual identity for multiple brands under ASUCLA’s umbrella. Assistant will also need to perform various creative and production tasks. Ideal candidate follows templates and identity guidelines to maintain brand standards. Additional responsibilities include:

 

• Ensure timely update/completion of projects

• Communicates clearly with their supervisor on project status and clarification of creative direction

• Be able to design and collaborate on projects with other team members 

• Be able to concept, prepare & assist during on-site photoshoots

• Complete production work on physical deliverables (i.e. trimming & delivering posters, assisting on signage installations)

• Develops and maintains production techniques, systems and procedures

 

 

Be able to work with supervisor on specific design projects and manage a workload of different projects with different deadlines.

Be able to carry out production work which includes: cutting, printing, mounting & producing physical deliverables.

Be open to constructive feedback & creative direction from manager.

Must be able to work in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Can also help with misc. projects throughout the office (Apparel management, office organization).
Must be able to walk for long periods of time and carry up to 25 pounds. 

 

Knowledge of other Adobe Creative Suite programs (InDesign, After Effects, etc.) a plus.

Illustration or ability to concept also a plus.

Willing to train the right candidate, but needs does need to have a showcase of work to be considered.

 

Must be proficient and have basic skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Canva and Figma ok.

 

Design Major a plus but not required. Good design pieces are most important.
