Athletics Office Student Employment Salary: $12.00- $13.00 per hour I. Position Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Athletics Director or Assistant Athletics Director, the Athletics Office Student Worker supports the daily administrative and operational functions of the Hocking College Athletics Department. This position provides hands-on experience in office administration, customer service, event operations, and athletic program support. The student employee assists coaches, staff, student-athletes, and visitors while helping maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming environment that supports the success of Hocking College Athletics. II. Duties and Responsibilities •Provide general office support, including answering telephones, greeting visitors, filing, copying, scanning, and organizing departmental records. •Assist student-athletes, coaches, faculty, staff, prospective students, and visitors with general questions and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel. •Support the Athletics Office with administrative tasks, including data entry, scheduling assistance, document preparation, and maintaining accurate records. •Assist with the preparation and distribution of correspondence, reports, and other departmental communications. •Help maintain office organization, supply inventory, bulletin boards, displays, and promotional materials. •Assist with home athletic events by helping with event setup, registration, ticket sales, game operations, hospitality, and cleanup as assigned. •Assist with recruiting visits, athletic department events, community outreach activities, and special projects. •Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Athletics Office, meeting spaces, and designated athletic facilities. •Assist with equipment inventory, organization, and distribution as directed. •Operate standard office equipment, including copiers, printers, scanners, and multi-line telephone systems. •Maintain confidentiality when handling student-athlete records, departmental information, and other sensitive materials. •Provide excellent customer service while representing Hocking College Athletics in a professional manner. •Successfully complete all required training related to customer service, workplace safety, Title IX, FERPA, and other College policies. •Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director or designated supervisor. III. Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills •Must be currently enrolled as a full-time Hocking College student. •Must be a second-year student. •Must meet federal requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). •Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. •Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. •Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. •Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. •Strong customer service and public relations skills. •Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment. •Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. •Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. •Dependability, professionalism, and a positive attitude. •Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support athletic events as needed. •Ability to lift and move office supplies, event materials, and athletic equipment up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. •Interest in athletics, sports management, recreation, or event operations is preferred but not required. •Willingness and ability to complete all required training and professional development assigned by the supervisor, Human Resources, or the College.
