Workweek: Up to 20 Hours | Schedule will vary depending on students class schedule.
Position Summary:
Provides assistance to teachers in the Childrens Learning Center.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist teacher(s) in preparation of curriculum materials.
- Assist teacher(s) in classroom/playground set up and clean up.
- Assist teacher(s) in supervision of children/activities.
- Interact with children and be responsive to childrens needs.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks: laundry and cleaning/sanitizing of classroom materials.
- Other duties as assigned by the director.
Required Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Excellent English communication skills
- Must be able to push or lift up to 50lbs
- Position requires frequent bending, stretching, and lifting
- Ability to sit, walk, and stand up to 4 hours
- Some previous experience with children; a DCFS background check is required
- Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall Semester
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above - if this is your first semester at MCC, the GPA requirement is waived.
