Workweek

Up to 15 Hours Per Week | Schedule will vary based on the student's/students' availability.

Weekly Available Hours: Monday through Friday, 12pm - 1pm (Open Gym) and Monday through Friday, 5pm - 7pm (Fitness Center). Students do not need to be available during both time periods to apply.

Position Summary

The fitness center and open gym attendant monitors activity in the fitness center and gymnasium for dedicated hours of Monday - Friday 1-2pm (Open Gym) and 5-7pm (Fitness Center).

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Fitness Center (5pm - 7pm):

• Greet members as they enter via the front desk.
• Monitor and supervise all personnel who utilize MCCs Fitness Center.
• Answer general questions to best of abilities (or find one of us to help)
• At end of shift, close the facility doors and ensure all individuals have exited the fitness center.
• Clean exercise equipment surfaces, help organize weight area, wash, dry and fold towels
• Work on special tasks/projects for Fitness Center/Athletic Dept. as requested.
• Report any issues or suspicious behavior to Director of Athletics, Fitness Center Staff and/or Campus Police

Open Gym (12pm - 1pm):

• Checking in with athletics office staff to open the gym and supply closet to monitor gym usage by any MCC students or student-athletes.
• At end of shift, close the closet doors and ensure all individuals have exited the gym.
• Report any issues or suspicious behavior to Athletics Office Staff and/or Campus Police

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be enrolled in 6 credit hours at MCC
• Must hold a minimum of a 2.0 GPA (If you're a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived)

Desired Qualifications:

• Bilingual

Skills and Specifications:

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, reception, and telephone skills
• Ability to use Microsoft products and o?ce equipment
• Must be able to push or lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to sit, walk, and stand up to 4 hours
• Ability to use Microsoft Office 365 products
• Ability to use office equipment (copier, multi-line phone, etc.)
