      Salary: $12.00- $13.00
       
      I. Position Purpose
       
      The Student Groundskeeper plays a vital role in preserving the safety, functionality, and visual appeal of Hocking College’s campuses and properties. This position is responsible for maintaining all outdoor areas to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Through routine grounds maintenance and seasonal projects, the Student Groundskeeper contributes directly to the overall campus experience and institutional pride.
      This role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely. The position provides hands-on learning opportunities, including developing technical skills, safely operating equipment, and adapting to changing priorities and weather conditions. The Student Groundskeeper must be prepared to perform physically demanding work outdoors in a variety of environmental conditions while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
       
      II. Duties and Responsibilities
       
      •Assist in the maintenance of outdoor areas across all Hocking College campuses and properties.
      •Perform mowing, trimming, planting, and weeding.
      •Maintain roadways, sidewalks, and parking lots.
      •Support overall grounds cleanliness and safety initiatives.
      •Assist with snow removal operations.
      •Perform tree and shrub maintenance.
      •Maintain athletic fields.
      •Participate in landscape construction projects.
      •Complete additional duties as assigned.
       
      III. Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
       
      •Must be currently enrolled as a full-time Hocking College student.
      •Must meet federal requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
      •Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
      •Strong attention to detail.
      •Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
      •Previous experience in landscape maintenance or construction is preferred but not required.
      •Exhibit a positive, professional attitude.
      •Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
