Position Summary

Tutor students using nondirective and student-led strategies. Provide students with resources, study strategies, and skills to encourage independent learning. Serve as a social and academic role model to students.

This tutor pool consists of the following subject areas: Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, Early Childhood Education, German, Math, Nursing Assistant Education, Physics, Spanish, and Writing.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Tutor students using nondirective and student-led strategies
• Provide students with resources, study strategies, and skills to encourage independent learning
• Serve as a social and academic role model to students

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be enrolled in 6 credit hours at MCC
• Must hold a minimum of a 2.0 GPA (If you're a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived)
• If applying for a Peer Math Tutor, must have completed MAT-175 (Calculus)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bilingual
