Job Requirements:

Pursuing Doctorate Degree in Psychology (including an APA-approved pre-doctoral clinical internship or equivalent)

Ability to relate to children and adolescents

Professional attitude and demeanor

Collaborative attitude

Team-oriented sensibilities

Basic interviewing and counseling skills

Knowledge of psychosocial assessment diagnosis of psychological conditions

Up to 1 year experience with administration, scoring and basic interpretation of individual tests of intelligence, achievement, personality and standardized checklists (with supervision)

Job Overview:

This position has a twofold purpose: 1.) The provision of direct service in a school-based psychological service intervention program 2.) Postdoctoral training and clinical service provision under the direct supervision of licensed psychologists on the staff of the Community Outreach Program. The position with meet partial requirements for postdoctoral supervised training in psychology (training necessary to become eligible for independent licensure). This position's duties include: Individual counseling/psychotherapy; Group counseling and classroom-based intervention; Prevention and educational services; Parent consultation and family counseling; Consultation and support to teachers, administrators and school personnel; Psychological and psycho-educational assessment and evaluation; Referral and service coordination with other community agencies and programs; Assist clinical staff and/or program director with administrative duties, program development, and program evaluation (as directed by program director).
