Summary

Under the supervision of a Financial Aid Advisor, performs duties related to the Customer Services Unit of the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Office as well assisting with the file room processing tasks as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Advises students and parents via telephone and personal interaction regarding their financial aid status.
  • Reviews all incoming documents to be sure they are complete and have all the appropriate signatures.
  • Interacts with other on-campus departments concerning financial aid.
  • Act as the first point of contact for students and families by staffing the call center phones and or the lobby front counter as scheduled.
  • Maintain an organized work area in both call center and front counter lobby area, including refilling and organizing brochures, supplies, and other items needed for staff and customers.
  • Has working knowledge of the PeopleSoft computer system. This includes the ability to find and utilize information from the system on a daily basis to aid with questions and requests from students, families and staff members.
  • Works independently with moderate supervision.
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality including understanding Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) as well as the sensitive data that is accessible through submitted documents as well as in PeopleSoft and OnBase.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinates and assists with mailings as needed.
  • Reviews and processes documents submitted through the online document submission application.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work throughout the summer term and University break periods.
  • Ability to communicate well via oral and written means.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must be accurate and give attention to detail.
  • Incorporates a professional, team-oriented attitude at all times.
  • Committing to and working a minimum of 10- 15 hours per week.
