Hours:
19 hours per week
Duties:
- Staff Supervision
- Assist in the hiring of staff and the conducting interviews. Provide training for all Fitness Center staff.
- Coordinate the scheduling of Fitness Center staff each trimester and ensure Fitness Center coverage during hours of operation.
- Monitor staff attendance and performance and address any issues or concerns. Inform your supervisor of any staff performance issues and consult if there is an issue that requires an official reprimand.
- Maintain a list of duties that should be performed during shifts and ensure shift duties are being completed in order to maintain Fitness Center cleanliness and safety standards.
- Fitness Center Maintenance
- Maintain contact with Director of Physical and communicate any cleaning, supply or facility needs.
- Do routine checks of equipment to ensure it is in working order and coordinate any needed maintenance or repairs.
- Keep maintenance schedules for each piece of equipment.
- Keep a list of machines/items people are requesting, and prioritize for purchasing.
- Address any misuse or behavioral issues by users of the Fitness Center facilities and refer to the Dean of Students and Alumni Services, if further disciplinary action is needed.
- Miscellaneous
- Maintain organization of Fitness Center and information regarding its use.
- Communicate the hours and policies of the Fitness Center to the University community and to Fitness Center users.
- Manage the Fitness Center budget in consultation with your supervisor. Purchases of new equipment or equipment over $500 require approval from the Dean of Students and Alumni Services.
Requirements:
- Must be a NWHSU student in good academic standing, required
- Must have previously been employed as a Fitness Center Attendant for at least one trimester to apply
- Federal Work Study, preferred
- Dependable
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
