Job Summary ------------

Join a talented group of more than 80 Morrison Healthcare dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. At this level, one trauma center dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in many specialty areas, both in the 675-bed inpatient setting and in over 35 outpatient clinics. RDs participate in research and quality improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community service experiences. Continuing education opportunities are plentiful from within the accomplished nutrition team and from the health system, which values ongoing training and education.

This part-time 24-hour-week position will provide high-quality evidence-based nutrition services to University of Virginia students. The role is in-person, M-Tu-Th, based in the Medical Services clinic within the state-of-the-art Student Health and Wellness SHW building, which opened in Fall 2021.

Key Responsibilities -------------------

• Provides medical nutrition therapy, including nutrition assessment, diet modification, nutrition education, and intervention for the patient population
• Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual
• Complies with all regulatory standards, including federal, state, and accrediting agencies, while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies
• Trains and mentors patient services staff and interns as applicable
• Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility-wide Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement programs

Qualifications --------------

• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Credentialing Board in states where required
• One year of hospital experience preferred
• Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications, electronic medical record, and diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming
