Job Summary
The HR Intern supports recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and administrative HR tasks, gaining hands-on nonprofit HR experience while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Pay: $12/hour
Location: Merrillville, IN
Schedule: Flexible, minimum 8 hours/week, office hours 8am-4pm
Reports To: HR/Director of Operations
Responsibilities
- Assist with posting jobs, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
- Support onboarding and maintain employee records securely
- Help plan employee engagement activities and internal communications
- Contribute to HR compliance, policy updates, and special projects
Qualifications
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and confidentiality
- Interest in HR, business, or nonprofit work
- Proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Preferred: HR experience or familiarity with HR systems
