General Definition of Work
The Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, under minimal supervision, performs district level work with extensive decision-making discretion overseeing the day-to-day educational programs of the school system. This includes providing leadership and oversight in the areas of Career and Technical Education, Student Services, Federal Programs, Curriculum and Instruction, Professional Learning, Exceptional Children's Services, Research, Accountability and Technology. Employee performs highly advanced and supervisory work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures related to a wide variety of programs and activities under the direction of the Superintendent.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Has depth of knowledge and skills of SIS software.
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity of SIS data and the accuracy, reliability, retrieval, reporting and security of all student information.
- Supports all SIS tasks and works closely with administration, faculty and staff to facilitate an understanding of requirements and deadlines.
- Assists with annual setup/configuration which includes calendar, scheduling, attendance, grades, photo imports, quarterly report cards, summer school, end of grade, honor roll calculations, and related items.
- Assist in training for school-based data managers/staff and district staff.
- Assist the Principals with the yearly scheduling process through SIS, a web-based automated master schedule builder.
- Provide support for Parents with SIS Parent Portal
- Support any necessary enrollment and registration processes.
- Support school-based Data Managers with the generation of grades for quarterly report cards, high school transcripts, honor rolls, GPA's and student rank reports.
- Understand General Statutes regarding school enrollment.
- Assist school based Data Managers in the process of final student records at the end of the school year in preparation for YET (Year End Transition) in SIS.
- Assist in the submission of State and Federal required reports to the State Department of Public Instruction
- Attend professional development experiences and HomeBase meetings to maintain and increase knowledge of the database management and student information system.
- Comply with the confidentiality requirements in local, state and federal policies and status.
- Drive a school bus as a substitute driver as needed.
- Complete and submit bus driver timesheets.
- Manage TIMS routing software, reports, and processes.
- Process new transportation requests and changes.
- Ensure driver coverage for each route on a daily basis.
- Process field trip requests, assign drivers, and reserve activity buses.
- Complete and submit necessary DPI reports.
- Perform dispatch duties during routes to ensure that drivers have support for student and mechanical issues.
- Point of contact for school staff and parents during routes when there are questions about student location (i.e. missing children).
- Assumes management of the Transportation Department upon the Director''s absence.
- Point of contact for school bus drivers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor''s degree
- Possess CDL with class P and S endorsements
- Proven relationship building skills with ability to collaborate within and across the district
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
- Proficient computer and technology skills
- Professional appearance, communication, organization, and attitude
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Work requires the occasional exertion of up to ten pounds of force
- Work regularly requires exchange of accurate and detailed information through oral and written communication
- Constantly operates a computer and other office business equipment
- Ability to remain in stationary position for required meetings/work
