JOB TITLE: Student Information System and Reporting Manager
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Technology and Innovation
SUPERVISES: Staff as assigned
NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB
The Student Information System and Reporting Manager combines data management, customer service,
organization, training, documentation, and operational leadership to manage and support the district's
student information systems. The Manager oversees the day-to-day functions of the Technology
Department's data team; provides functional and technical support for PowerSchool and related student
information system tools; develops and delivers staff training; and maintains clear documentation to
promote consistent SIS practices across schools and departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- At least four years of experience working with and maintaining student information systems, state
reporting, and other database systems.
- Experience with Excel spreadsheets and NJSMART platform.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, customer service, presentation,
technical writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong willingness and demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and provide responsive
user support.
- Experience in the K-12 education sector.
- Experience in using PowerSchool, including PowerTeacher Pro, the PowerSchool administrative
portal, grading, attendance, scheduling, report card generation, and related workflows.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Student Information System and Reporting Manager shall:
- Manages and maintains the district's Student Information System (SIS) and other data warehousing
systems, including PowerSchool and other integrated applications.
- Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 functional and technical support to teachers, secretaries, guidance
counselors, administrators, and other district personnel using PowerSchool and related SIS tools,

including PowerTeacher Pro, attendance tracking, grading, scheduling, reporting, and administrative
portal functions.
- Manages district data collection and reporting processes and supports accurate, timely State Reporting
submissions.
- Responds to customer inquiries via email, web, phone, and in-person support; tracks, diagnoses, and
resolves issues related to SIS, data, and database operations.
- Supports SIS third-party applications as required, including account and user setup, database
connectivity, application reporting, and related integrations.
- Collaborates with members of the Technology Support Services team and school-based staff to
optimize SIS operations, supporting data warehousing, system access, and consistent districtwide
practices.
- Manages and/or implements periodic SIS system updates, upgrades, configurations, and workflow
changes as required.
- Develops and delivers in-person and virtual training for teachers, secretaries, counselors,
administrators, and other district staff on PowerSchool/SIS procedures, workflows, and system
functionality.
- Maintains a comprehensive library, including step-by-step user guides, Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs), training materials, and video walkthroughs for common SIS workflows.
- Manages the district's year-to-year scheduling structure for all schools and trains district and school
administrators and counselors in scheduling processes and related SIS functions.
- Manages and ensures verification of grades, enrollment, credits earned, graduation information,
attendance, and related student records for accuracy and validation each school year.
- Works in conjunction with the Counseling Department to ensure school counselors are trained and
equipped to support scheduling, grading, attendance, transcript, and related SIS functions at the
building level.
- Supports secondary schools with report card and transcript workflows, including term-end grade
locking, report card generation/printing/distribution, transcript setup, and related processes.
- Provides registration and parent portal user support, including troubleshooting parent access, online
registration form errors, and verification workflows in collaboration with school secretaries and other
staff.
- Collaborates with district and school leadership to support the collection, extraction, monitoring, and
analysis of student data, including special education, demographic, enrollment, and assessment
information.
- Works with bilingual, special education, counseling, registration, and other departments to promote
accurate and clean data entry in the SIS for operational and State Reporting purposes.
- Analyzes and runs reports to assess, monitor, and update student enrollment and other student
information as needed.
- Conducts internal auditing of student absence, entry/withdrawal, enrollment, grading, and other SIS
data on a periodic basis to support data integrity.
- Oversees the day-to-day functions of the data team in conjunction with the Executive Director of
Technology and Innovation.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Technology and Innovation or
designee.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
The Student Information System and Reporting Manager shall be employed under the following terms:
- Work year of twelve (12) months.
- Salary, benefits, and leave of time as specified in Board Policy.
- Conditions established by laws and codes of the State and policies, rules and regulations
established by the Board of Education (N.J.S.A 18A:27-4 et seq.).

The Student Information System and Reporting Manager shall be evaluated in accordance with Board of
Education Policy.
