Title: AI‑Enabled In‑Cabin Product Intern (Cockpit Product Line)

What You'll Do In This Role:

Visteon is seeking an intern to join the Cockpit Product Line supporting new AI-enabled in-cabin product development. In this role, you will:

  • Support development, prototyping, and validation of AI in-cabin features (driver monitoring, occupant sensing, personalization, cabin intelligence signals).
  • Integrate and test Edge AI models (vision, audio, sensor fusion) on cockpit compute platforms using modern toolchains (e.g., ONNX, TensorRT, PyTorch).
  • Collect, label, and process in-cabin sensor datasets (RGB, IR, ToF, audio) to support model training and algorithm evaluation.
  • Conduct benchmarking of AI models for latency, accuracy, robustness, and power efficiency on embedded hardware.
  • Prepare test plans, run experiments, analyze model outputs, and document findings to support engineering reviews.
  • Work cross-functionally with Cockpit hardware, software, UX, and system engineering teams to validate user-facing AI behaviors.
  • Contribute to internal reports, demos, and technical presentations highlighting model performance and insights.

What's In It for You:

  • Hands on experience developing AI driven in cabin features used in next generation cockpit platforms.
  • Exposure to state of the art AI frameworks, toolchains, and embedded inference engines.
  • Experience working with multimodal sensor data, dataset preprocessing, annotation tools, and evaluation pipelines.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with global engineering teams and contribute to customer facing prototypes.
  • Real world understanding of how AI impacts safety, comfort, and personalization in automotive environments.

What You'll Bring:

  • Education: Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of neural networks, computer vision, or signal processing; familiarity with AI model life cycle.
  • Tools: Experience or coursework with Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, OpenCV, or embedded AI toolchains (e.g., ONNX Runtime, TensorRT, OpenVINO).
  • Skills: Strong analytical and debugging skills; ability to work with datasets and evaluate model outputs.
  • Communication: Excellent documentation, collaboration, and communication skills.

Where You Will Work: This position will be based at Visteon's Headquarters in Van Buren Township Michigan, GLCC, 40 hours per week for 12 weeks (14-22 weeks. 22 weeks preferred).
