Supports assigned tasks and projects under supervision while gaining practical experience by applying theoretical knowledge in the health system environment. Participates actively in organizational workflows, training sessions, and team discussions to enhance skills and contribute effectively. Communicates progress and challenges regularly, maintains confidentiality, and adheres to health system policies. Provides valuable exposure to healthcare workplace processes and fosters professional growth through collaboration and feedback.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Support assigned IT projects, tasks, and operational activities under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic technical issues across various technology platforms.
  • Participate in system maintenance, upgrades, testing, and documentation activities.
  • Support IT teams with data collection, analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with user account management, application support, and technical requests as appropriate.
  • Gain exposure to networking, cybersecurity, systems administration, software development, healthcare technology, or other IT disciplines based on departmental assignment.
  • Collaborate with team members on technology solutions that support organizational goals and operational efficiency.
  • Attend training sessions, team meetings, and project discussions to enhance technical knowledge and professional development.
  • Document procedures, workflows, and project updates accurately and professionally.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and comply with organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, curiosity, and a willingness to learn new technologies and concepts.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations effectively with team members and supervisors.

Qualifications

Education

  • Currently enrolled in an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field preferred

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of computer systems, software applications, networking, databases, or programming concepts through coursework, projects, or prior experience.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Information Technology or healthcare technology.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies and procedures.

Preferred

  • Previous internship, academic project, volunteer experience, or coursework related to IT, cybersecurity, software development, networking, systems administration, data analytics, or technical support.
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology environments is a plus.
