Student Intern | The Aviary Recovery Center | Lee's Summit, MissouriAbout the JobThe Social Worker I plans, directs, defines and coordinates individualized and group therapeutic support and services to clients with behavioral problems, psychiatric disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use disorder and physical and emotional abuse. Conducts individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, and education.Roles and ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsConduct social history assessment of the client through observation and client/family interview, obtaining information on the client's needs, skills, interests and limitations for the development and implementation of the treatment plan.Coordinate and plan programs and activities to meet client's social and emotional needs.Promote recovery, symptom reduction and the achievement of the highest level of social functioning.Provide crisis intervention and assist families in understanding the implications and complexities of a life situation and its impact on lifestyle.Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to discuss client assessment, treatment plan and ongoing discharge plan.Communicate or aid family members in understanding and supporting the client.Manage a caseload and maintain accurate and timely documentation to assure client records comply with facility and accreditation standards.Facilitate education, process groups, support groups and referrals as requested.Assist in the development of effective treatment plans that apply therapeutic principles appropriately while ensuring safety at all times for the client.Education, Experience and Skill RequirementsBachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university required.Currently pursuing a master's degree in social work.One or more years' experience working with client population preferred.Ability to effectively assess, plan and implement therapeutic social work services in a multidisciplinary setting.Skill in assessment, considerable knowledge of social work principles and practice, social health and welfare programs and government eligibility for these programs; ability to mobilize and coordinate resources effectively.Licenses, Designations and CertificationsEligible for state licensure as one of the following: Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC), Registered Addiction Counselor (RAC), as required by the state in which the facility is operating.CPR certification and de‑escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).First aid may be required based on state or facility.Supervisory RequirementsThis position is an Individual Contributor.BenefitsThe Aviary Recovery Center offers a comprehensive benefit plan and a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.The Aviary Recovery Center is an EOE.#J-18808-Ljbffr
