QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• CPR certification (classes provided upon hiring if needed)
• Ability to referee OR score keep for multiple sports

Preferred

• Certification or previous training as a referee
• 2+ semesters of MSU student employment eligibility remaining
• Customer service experience
• Previous participation in MSU Intramurals

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Referee contests, leagues, and events hosted by MSU Intramurals
• Cooperate with other Intramural student staff
• Officiate impartially
• Score keep for contests, leagues, and events hosted by MSU Intramurals
• Communicate with game officials during contests
• Ensure accuracy of score reporting and statistics
• Assist professional staff and recreation student building managers with setup and teardown before and after MSU Intramurals Events
• Assist in the promotion and marketing of MSU Intramurals Leagues and Tournaments
• Notify proper authorities and full-time staff of all incidents, accidents, injuries and emergencies
• Assist with MSU Intramurals inventory and maintenance needs
• Attend annual MSU Wellness Center Staff Training
• Assist with MSU Wellness Center Events (e.g. RecFest, Flannel Fest, Wellness Fair)
• Demonstrate a personal lifestyle that promotes wellness
• Other duties as assigned

Confidentiality of Application Materials:

Pursuant to the NDCC 44-04-18.27, if a public entity or any person delegated authority by a public entity to review applications or make hiring decisions receives applications from three or more applicants who meet the minimum qualifications for a vacant position, the public entity or other person shall designate three or more of the qualified applicants as finalists for further consideration before the public entity or other person may issue an offer of employment to fill the position. However, if the public entity or other person does not wish to consider any of the applications further and decides not to make an offer of employment for the vacant position, the public entity need not designate any finalist. Once the finalists are designated, the applications and related records of the finalists are open to the public.
