Description
Position Overview:
The School of Data Science at the University of Virginia seeks qualified student workers to assist with IT operations and support services. This role provides hands-on exposure to enterprise systems, endpoint management, and cybersecurity practices.
Core Responsibilities:
Maintain and update inventory records for Windows and macOS devices
Assist in migration of devices to Microsoft Intune and Jamf
Provide Tier 1 technical support and troubleshoot issues
Maintain and track loaner laptop devices
Provide basic AV support and training of our spaces
Monitor and assist with remediation of security vulnerabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework or experience in IT or related field
Familiarity with Intune, Jamf, or similar tools
Compensation:
$17/hr.
Minimum Qualifications:
Resume and Cover Letter required.
Currently enrolled University of Virginia student.
Basic knowledge of computer systems.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Physical Demands: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
