    Description

    Position Overview:

    The School of Data Science at the University of Virginia seeks qualified student workers to assist with IT operations and support services. This role provides hands-on exposure to enterprise systems, endpoint management, and cybersecurity practices.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and update inventory records for Windows and macOS devices 
    • Assist in migration of devices to Microsoft Intune and Jamf 
    • Provide Tier 1 technical support and troubleshoot issues 
    • Maintain and track loaner laptop devices 
    • Provide basic AV support and training of our spaces 
    • Monitor and assist with remediation of security vulnerabilities

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Coursework or experience in IT or related field 
    • Familiarity with Intune, Jamf, or similar tools 

    Compensation:

    $17/hr.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Resume and Cover Letter required.

    Currently enrolled University of Virginia student. 

    Basic knowledge of computer systems. 

    Strong communication and organizational skills. 

    Physical Demands:
    This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
