This position is for a motivated, degree-seeking student to assist with ongoing research in the Pulmonary Lab. This lab focuses on studying the impact of chronic lung disease on the blood-brain barrier using cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and patient-derived samples.

The selected student will contribute to translational research that bridges clinical and laboratory science by performing a variety of research activities, including experimental setup, data collection, and documentation. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established protocols, and maintaining accurate laboratory records in a fast-paced research environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with cell culture maintenance and experimental procedures
  • Perform molecular and biochemical assays, including:

Western Blot

ELISA

PCR

PBMC biomarker analysis

  • Handle and process human-derived biological samples in accordance with laboratory safety and compliance standards
  • Follow detailed laboratory protocols with precision and consistency
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and organized documentation of experiments and results
  • Prepare reagents, maintain lab supplies, and support general lab operations
  • Collaborate with lab members on ongoing research projects
