Job Summary/Basic Function:
Perform animal husbandry duties for laboratory rats. Duties include: daily (7 days
per week) monitoring health of the rats, feeding, watering, and recording animal
room temperature and humidity measurements; changing cages and bedding at
least once or more per week and washing dirty cages and water bottles; weighing
and recording body weights of rats; cleaning floors, countertops, sink, and
removing garbage. Training will be provided.
Minimum Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree offered by the College of Health and Emergency Responders. Must be a full time student unless applied to graduate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in psychology, kinesiology or a related area.
Physical Demands:
Occasional mild-to-heavy lifting, Prolonged standing, must be comfortable with taking care if live animals.
