Job Summary
The Part-Time Student Life Coordinator supports the development, coordination, and implementation of student life programs and activities that promote student engagement, connection, and retention. Reporting to the Director of Student Life, this position assists with event planning, student organization support, and outreach efforts that contribute to a vibrant campus environment.
Typical Job Functions
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing student life events and activities
- Provide logistical and on-site support for campus programs and events
- Support student clubs and organizations, including basic guidance on processes, policies, and event planning
- Assist with Student Senate and student leadership groups as directed
- Help promote student engagement opportunities through outreach and marketing efforts, including social media and campus communications
- Track event participation and assist with maintaining records, reports, and program materials
- Provide information and customer service to students regarding activities, events, and involvement opportunities
- Assist with purchasing, organizing, and preparing supplies for events and programs
- Support the delivery of recreational and virtual engagement opportunities
- Collaborate with campus departments, faculty, staff, and community partners to support programming efforts
- Assist with supervision of student employees and volunteers during events, as assigned
- Ensure activities and events follow college policies and procedures
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree (or in progress) in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field (including applicable AAS degrees), or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working in a professional setting
- Knowledge of basic computing programs including Word, Excel, and Google Docs
- Knowledge of creating basic marketing materials (digital and print), including flyers, emails, and posters, using tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, or similar platforms
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, student-centered environment
- Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI doesn't sponsor Visas)
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Experience with student activities, campus programming, or event coordination
- Experience working in a community college or student services environment
- Familiarity with social media or basic marketing and outreach strategies
Work Schedule
- Part-time; schedule determined by departmental needs
- Evening and occasional weekend hours required
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, gross manipulations (involves hands) and standing or sitting (combination). Employees primarily work indoors with occasional exposure to varying temperatures. Duties require sitting, standing, walking, and use of repetitive hand motions. Occasional lifting of event materials may be required.
On-site work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.
Background Investigations:
Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225: Background Checks
