Overview

Under minimal supervision, this person will perform weekly checks, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on all Makerspace 3D printers across multiple locations on campus. This position''s exact schedule to be determined.

This position will work 10-15 hours a week, exact schedule to be determined.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Must be a current Penn College student in good standing. Required

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working on 3D printers Required

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Familiarity with common maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for both electronic and mechanical aspects of 3D printers. Required
  • Awareness of safety procedures for maintenance protocols. Required
  • Patience in troubleshooting and resolving new/unknown problems; willingness to take responsibility for seeing a challenge through until it is resolved. Required

Responsibilities

Perform a weekly check and test-print on each of the Makerspace's 3D printers, in locations including the Makerspace, LaunchBox, Campus Center, and Library to check for smooth functioning and identify any unreported problems. Interact with staff at each of these locations to collect reports of problems with the printers' functionality and keep them updated on which printers are/aren't out of order. Perform all maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and repairs on all Makerspace 3D printers. Advise supervisor on potential upgrades and improvements. Track maintenance tasks to be sure they are performed at the appropriate intervals. Maintain log of equipment problems and their resolutions. Inform supervisor of needed maintenance/repair supplies and spare/replacement parts purchases. Follow safe practices when working on equipment, and ensure that equipment that should not be used is unplugged and identified with an "Out of Order" sign.

Physical Standards and Special Job Features

Must possess good hearing and visual acuity. Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Good manual dexterity required.

Pay Transparency

$12.00 per hour.
