Overview
Following general supervision, this person will offer ad hoc and/or periodic training sessions for specific equipment and tools in the Dr. Welch Workshop, a makerspace at Penn College. This person will be a machining trainer, to assist people in learning and using a mill and a lathe.
This position works 10-15 hours a week, exact schedule to be determined.

Responsibilities
Prepare and present training sessions, whether scheduled or on-demand, demonstrating, explaining and teaching safe and correct use of makerspace equipment. Assist new users individually on equipment as needed. Monitor use of equipment and tools to ensure safe and effective operation by users. Provide guidance and direction on users projects as requested. Maintain and ensure cleanliness and organization of the space and equipment. Alert supervisor to maintenance problems or safety issues with the equipment. Alert supervisor when supplies or other items need purchased. As assigned by supervisor, design and fabricate items requested by faculty or staff, including display projects for the makerspace.
