Overview

Under general supervision, this person will perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on Makerspace equipment and tools. This position exact schedule to be determined.

This position works 10-15 hours a week, exact schedule to be determined.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Must be a current Penn College student in good standing. Required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • OSHA-30 Certification. Preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with maintenance tools and routine. Required
  • Relevant degree/program enrollment. Preferred

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Familiarity with common maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. Required
  • Basic knowledge of wiring. Required
  • Awareness of safety procedures for maintenance protocols. Required
  • Knowledge of the maintenance of Makerspace equipment (woodworking, metal milling, welding and plasma cutting, 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, sewing machines, and hand-held power tools. Required

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs on makerspace equipment and tools; install and test equipment upgrades. Alert supervisor when higher-level repairs and servicing are needed. Advise supervisor on equipment/tools nearing end-of-life, and if requested assist in researching replacements. Track maintenance tasks to be sure they are performed at the appropriate intervals. Maintain log of equipment problems and their resolutions. Maintain equipment user manuals in an orderly fashion. Inform supervisor of needed maintenance/repair supplies and spare/replacement parts purchases. Lockout/tagout faulty equipment, or equipment that is being worked on. Follow safe practices when working on equipment. Update manuals, maintenance logs, etc. when equipment is added/removed from the makerspace.

Physical Standards and Special Job Features

Must possess good hearing and visual acuity. Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.

Pay Transparency

$12.00 per hour.
