The Student Marketing Assistant will assist Strategic Marketing & Communications staff with projects related to advertising, web, and digital media marketing including search engine optimization, website updates, photography, social media communications, and ad campaign support.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Penn College student or other college student during summer currently enrolled in a marketing-related bachelor''s degree program with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Required
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Knowledge of marketing fundamentals. Required
Exhibit a polished, professional, and engaging on-camera presence, serving as a primary on-screen representative in social media content. Required
Proficiency in writing, editing, and interview question development. Required
Familiarity with major social media networks including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. Required
Ability to work with tight deadlines and minimal supervision. Required
Ability to communicate clearly and work on a team. Required
Must exhibit a professional demeanor. Required
Competency with digital or mobile photography. Preferred
Familiarity with search engine optimization concepts. Preferred
Familiarity with social media management systems. Preferred
Familiarity with Google Analytics or similar web traffic analytics application. Preferred
Familiarity with Meta Insights or similar social media analytics. Preferred
Responsibilities
Conduct research to support marketing activities.
Build campaign, analytics, and marketing reports as requested.
Process web content and search engine optimization updates.
Assist with website usability testing.
Provide photo and video shoot content and logistics support.
Assist with building online marketing audiences within Google and Meta advertising platforms.
Propose ideas for social media and ad campaigns.
Produce and schedule social media posts to support marketing campaigns.
Obtain approval of website updates, social media posts, and online ads from supervisor or designee prior to publication/placement.
Build knowledge of marketing, advertising, and social media best practices.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Take and process photographs of Penn College and related subjects and activities.
Attend select on-campus events and document on social media.
Attend select meetings with supervisor or other Public Relations & Marketing staff members.
