    The video producer reports directly to the Student Digital Media Manager or a designated student supervisor in Syc Creations, the student group that produces client-driven videos, manages in-house websites and develops sites for clients, and offers graphic design services for Student Media.

    Job Duties

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The video producer will be involved in all aspects of video production, including conceptualization and planning, shooting, scripting, editing and special effects, post-production, and client consultations. Duties include:

    1) Shoot video for campus and off-campus nonprofit clients and for Student Media groups.

    2) Edit video for delivery to client/Student Media units.

    3) Participate in planning video projects and developing story lines for editing.

    4) Create scripts to organize edited video into a coherent narrative.

    5) Listen to clients and offer suggestions and guidance on the best way to meet client needs and expectations.

    6) Maintain regular work hours to complete all projects within allotted time.

    7) Work in a team environment with others involved in some aspect of Syc Creations.

    8) Participate in and contribute to a culture of innovation in delivery of video services.

    9) Collaborate with students in other Student Media units.

    10) Other work as assigned by the Student Digital Media Manager or Student Lead, possibly including work related to social media, webmastering, or graphic design.

    The video producer in Syc Creations should expect to work 10 hours per week during the fall and spring academic terms, with the possibility of employment during summer and semester breaks. The schedule will be determined by work needs and in consultation with the Student Digital Media Manager.

    Some experience with shooting and editing video is highly preferred. We shoot with DSLR cameras and edit on Adobe Premiere. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and After Effects, a definite plus.
