Job Summary

Under the direction of the Superintendent or designee, the Student Monitor oversees student activities and behavior at all school events and activities. The Student Monitor also supervises students during brief absences of the Family and Community Engagement Specialists. Hours will vary, no guarantee. Not to exceed 29 hours per week, on call. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Provide supervision and maintain a safe and secure environment for students during school events, activities, and sporting events • Maintain continuous accountability of assigned students before, during, and after events • Supervise student conduct during school events, activities, sporting events and transportation (e.g., buses, walking routes, or other approved means) • Monitor surroundings and assess site-specific safety conditions; take appropriate preventative measures to address potential hazards • Follow established emergency procedures, including evacuation, lockdown, and medical response protocols; provide basic first aid and report all student injuries to the Director of Regional Services • Monitor and control access to students by non-school individuals and ensure proper student release procedures, including verification of authorized pick-up when applicable • Provide guidance, support, and assistance to students, including those experiencing difficulties or navigating unfamiliar environments • Assist with the setup, breakdown, and cleanup of materials for events, activities, and sporting events • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with applicable laws and school policies We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), and applicable laws. Requirements / Qualifications

  • High School Diploma. • Two years of prior student supervisory experience. • Experience in educational or charter school settings is preferred. • First Aid and CPR certificate. • Valid California Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability required. • Letter of Introduction (1) • Resume (1) • Letters of Recommendation (3) (letters must be dated within the last two years)
