    SUMMARY OF POSITION:

    Responsible to a registered nurse for performing basic bedside care and activities of daily living procedures. The student nurse trainee will be assigned to a designated unit and partnered with a patient care assistant until training completion. Students must commit to a two-week orientation period. Student nurse trainee will be expected to work 12 hours per quarter in order ensure they are up to date with organizational procedures and processes to continue in the program.

    Our student nurse trainee program is a wonderful way for a student in an ASN or BSN program, who has completed their first clinicals, to gain experience in a clinical setting.

    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

    The 36-bed mixed-acuity unit serves patients who are ventilator dependent through a tracheostomy, have experienced multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, renal/liver failure, acid-base and electrolyte imbalances, diabetes mellitus and substance use disorder.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Nursing student of an accredited Nursing Program and one clinical rotation, or a Graduate Nurse without Boards required.
