In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

  • Federal Work Study student may apply.

  • In good disciplinary standing.

  • Must be located in the U.S.

The Student Office Administrative/Project Assistant supports the Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success (VPEMSS), Executive Assistant (EA) to the VPEMSS and the Care Support Services Team by providing reception and general administrative assistance with projects and initiatives, office organization, outreach, event support, and a variety of other tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in the Office of the Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success/Care  Support Services. 

  • Serve as a receptionist for the OVPEMSS/CSS assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors with  various inquiries. 

  • Support and implement outreach and marketing initiatives, design flyers and social media  outreach as needed. 

  • Provide administrative support including but not limited to, answering phones, announcing  visitors, making referrals to other departments, filing, photocopying, scanning, office supply  ordering, assisting the EA with purchasing card documentation. 

  • Assist the EA with calendar management for the VP, meeting and event set up, associated  catering and physical plant orders, and break down as needed. 

  • Process requests for conference room reservations and handle communication as required.

  • Assist the EA with office supply ordering purchasing card documentation and reporting as  needed. 

  • Ensure that the OVPEMSS “Official Notices” and “General Notices” bulletin boards in 921 and  1140 are current and orderly, and postings that do not follow policy guidelines are removed.

  • Collaborate with the administrative/front line team to maintain an inventory of office supplies as needed.  

  • Represent the student voice and provide feedback as required. 

  • Gather data, organize documentation, and work on projects related to the VPEMSS portfolio (Student Success, and Enrollment Management Divisions).  

  • Work with student groups and gather information on student needs as assigned.

  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Administrative experience 

  • Self-motivation/diligence 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills 

  • Cultural competency and sensitivity 

  • Ability to work alone and with a team 

  • Mac proficient 

  • Familiarity and experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Experience with graphic design software such as Canva a plus 

  • Multilingual a plus

We desire an open, honest, self-motivated, culturally sensitive team leader who is a self-starter and  positive role model for other student employees. Previous supervisory and office skills are preferred, a moderate knowledge of the Student Success division is important, a moderate knowledge of Microsoft  Word and Excel, Google Docs and Google Sheets are helpful, good interpersonal, writing, and  communication skills are important. Attention to detail and confidentiality are essential. Occasional  evening and weekend hours may be available for special events, although it is not required. Limited  summer hours are generally available as well.
