Position Overview
The Student Opportunity Coordinator assists the students to obtain the wraparound services provided by the College and third-party agencies. This position supports the students with services to ensure retention in the program and transition to workplace readiness and post-secondary education.
This is a temporary grant funded position through December 31st year 2026 contingent upon grantor funding and grant extensions.
This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.
What you will be doing
Facilitates student access to wraparound services as part of the program in an effort to optimize student success
Identifies student needs, coordinates access and delivery of services
Reports service outcomes to departmental staff
Communicates with instructors to monitor student retention and completion, post-testing and transition to workplace or postsecondary education
Monitors individual student retention and completion of Integrated Education and Training programs
Serves as a resource to campus administrators, staff, and committees as they identify, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate resources for students
Collaborates with workforce agencies and college programs to deliver benefits for the students
Assists with student admissions and registration during peak period
Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience
All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
Knowledge of civic engagement and higher education
Demonstrated experience in partnership development
Ability to effectively manage marketing/events with multifaceted programming
Possess excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written)
Knowledge of communication principles, marketing techniques, strategies and processes while keeping abreast of current trends
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff
