  • Responsible for the supervision of flight and ground training for flight students. Identifies outliers and creates effective solutions for maintaining progress.

Major Duties

  • Monitors training progression of students in applicable flight and ground courses.
  • Prepares and implements interventional plans in order to connect at-risk students to support staff and other resources. Provides timely feedback to students about academic progress.
  • Identifies trends of underperforming students and in conjunction with the student's lead instructor, develops plans for remediation.
  • Coordinates meetings with lead instructors to identify students that need training intervention.
  • Conducts compliance audits for all students completing an FAA Part 141 flight course and maintains regulatory compliance by enrolling students into FAA curricula.
  • Manages the student flight performance review process. Supports lead flight instructors during review.
  • Identifies students that have dropped or terminated their flight training and processes their training and school documentation in compliance with FAA regulations.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for students and their parents or guardians that have questions about course progress. Provide direction to students on navigating resources on campus, online and in the community.
  • Provides financial estimates to students needing additional training.
  • Provides mentoring and guidance to the College of Aviation flight instructor faculty and staff on college and university policy, processes and standard practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Experience using and querying databases.
  • Budget experience.
  • Providing guidance to students or other employees.
