General Function

The Student Recruiter/Enrollment Specialist assists in the development and execution of a recruitment plan to build relationships with prospective Central Piedmont Community College students through enrollment.

This position may occasionally working night and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Participates in recruiting efforts on- and off-campus including: college fairs, high school visits, information events, and community activities. Such events take place both during regular business hours and occasionally after hours (evenings and weekends).

  2. Recruits on behalf of Central Piedmont, sharing and selling the benefits of the Community College in order to increase the number of inquiries and applicants to the College along with the conversion of those inquiries and applicants to help move students through the enrollment process.

  3. Manages, effectively tracks and recruits potential student groups with the use of a client relationship management (CRM) tool. Uses the CRM to assess the effectiveness of various recruitment efforts and make adjustments based on intake and conversion numbers.

  4. Increases penetration and conversion rates for Central Piedmont in Mecklenburg county service area schools, events, territories and dual credit populations.

  5. Understands what attributes resonate with different target audiences and adjust recruitment practices and efforts based on those different audiences.

  6. Assists with the development of collaborative relationships with local schools, community agencies, local employers and organizations as they relate to the implementation of the campus recruitment plan.

  7. Works closely with internal Central Piedmont personnel to coordinate overall recruitment opportunities effectively. Such personnel may include: marketing departments, campus cabinet, academic chairs, Career Services, and others.

  8. Conducts all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

  9. Develops transition plans for recruiting students in partnership with outside agencies and organizations.

  10. Provides multi-campus support during registration, special events and tours.

  11. Assists recruitment team members in implementation of special projects.

  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of related work experience

Candidate must have reliable transportation. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule that will occasionally include evening and weekend events.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing or related field
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience using bilingual skills in a business or education environment
