Job Title: Student Research Assistant - PSY (Hawk), Su26

Reports to: Christopher Hawk

Essential Functions

Psychology Student Research Assistant working with Professor Christopher Hawk

  • Assist with human-subjects research, including:

  • Setting up lab space

  • Running participants through study protocols

  • Consolidating and organizing data

  • Compensating participants

  • Maintaining accurate records

  • Support background research efforts:

  • Conduct literature searches

  • Read, catalog, and store academic articles

  • Contribute to literature reviews and IRB applications

  • May assist with:

  • Developing study materials or stimuli

  • Coding and analyzing raw data

  • Other research-related tasks as needed

  • Work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Track and report hours worked accurately

Qualifications/Competencies

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with literature reviews or data collection
  • Experience in R for data analysis
  • Experience with Python

Expected dates of employment: May 11 - July 31, 2026

Expected number of hours per week: 10

Wage Range:

$17.13 - $18.25 per hour, depending on number of terms worked at DigiPen

Working Conditions:

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and fine finger dexterity. May need to lift up to 25 lbs. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.

DigiPen Student Employee Academic Requirements:

  • Are currently a Matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology
  • Good Academic Standing - not on Academic Warning as defined in DigiPen Course Catalog
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Taken and passed PSY-101 with a B or better

Requirement Exceptions:

It is possible to still be selected for a position with DigiPen if you do not meet the requirements above, so dont let that dissuade you from applying!
