Position Summary ORLANDO HEALTH: WINNIE PALMER HOSPITAL FOR WOMEN & BABIES Orlando Health is seeking for Respiratory Therapist Assistant Student (NICU). The Respiratory Therapist Assistant is responsible for performing multiple duties that require an expertise in the assembly, transport, disinfection, calibration and troubleshooting of Respiratory Related Equipment. The Respiratory Assistant works under the direction of a Licensed Respiratory Therapist. The Respiratory Therapist Assistant is responsible for maintain an appropriate level of equipment in the various respiratory work areas and assisting the Respiratory Therapists and physician with various procedures and tasks, as directed. The position may assist in training new Respiratory Therapy Assistants or Student Respiratory Therapists on routine therapy assistant functions. Licensure/Certification • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification. • Obtains license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the State of Florida Department of Health within three months post-graduation. Experience Concurrent enrollment in an Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences pre-licensure program not to exceed three months post-graduation.
