Description

Overview: West Boylston Public Schools is seeking dedicated and compassionate Student Safety Monitor keeps students, staff, and campus grounds secure by supervising daily activities, enforcing rules, and managing visitor access. The key responsibilities include patrolling hallways, monitoring cafeterias and playgrounds, and responding to emergencies. The Student Safety Monitor reports to the building Principal.

Statement of Duties:

  • Support the arrival and dismissal procedures for students including parking lot monitoring and safety.
  • Support the safe transition of students between classes.
  • Support the supervision and safety of all campus areas including exterior areas of the building and grounds.
  • Notify the school Administration of potential safety issues including, but not limited to, students spending long amounts of time in hallway areas, students frequently leaving classes throughout the school day, student congregating in bathroom areas, students leaving campus without proper authorization, student behavioral concerns, disruptive behavior, suspected motor vehicle violations, and other suspicious circumstances.
  • Notify the School Administration when local public safety officials are on school property.
  • Supervise hallways, bathrooms and the school cafeteria or other areas as assigned.
  • Enforce the rules and regulations as outlined in the Student Handbook as well as the rules for student behavior as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and any District Protocols and Guidelines.
  • Enforce the security procedures established by the district.
  • Other duties as assigned by school administration.

Work Year:

  • School Year (180 days school is in session for students)
  • 7.5 hours a day (1⁄2-hour unpaid paid lunch), during the school year when students are in-session for a full day of school (as determined by the school year calendar) 7:00 am - 2:30 pm
  • 4.5 hours a day, during the school year when students are in-session for a half day of school (as determined by the school year calendar) 7:00 am - 11:30am
  • May be required to attend District Professional Development on half days as needed
  • 10 sick days/2 personal days. Pro-rated for a late start or early termination
  • $20.53 per hour (SY2026-27)
