    Job Description

    Lead Graduate Student Services Operations:

    • Support and provide input on the strategic direction and coordination of Graduate Admission and Degree Services operations under the guidance of the Director.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive Graduate Admission and Degree Services manual/training document and notify Graduate College GrADS team of important changes to policies/procedures.
    • Collaboratively establish strategic priorities with GrADS team for graduate student lifecycle from admissions through degree completion.
    • Oversee, supervise and assign responsibilities of the GrADS team to meet seasonal demand and ensure the uninterrupted, efficient work flow from admissions to degree audit/award.
    • Provide support for routine processes for GrADS team and provide expert leadership on generalist support for admissions and degree milestones.
    • Review and report on admissions trends and identify areas for improvement. Periodically review and evaluate admissions processes.
    • Develop protocols and metrics for periodic assessment of the graduate student body's progress toward degree including timely progression through milestones.
    • Work with Director of GrADS and Associate Dean of Academic Services to implement interventions.
    • Review, process, and report on graduate academic probation, lack of satisfactory progress, dismissals, discontinuations, and leaves of absence.
    • Provide accurate graduate student information for Commencement program each year.
    • Provide assistance to Director of GrADS and Associate Dean of Academic Services regarding metrics and efficiency evaluations.
    • Conduct a needs assessment prior to recommending hiring any new GrADS team personnel.
    • Assist and train Graduate College GrADS team when they come across new or unusual situations, take escalation calls/walk-ins/emails.

    Perform Precision Operational Tasks:

    • Review daily reports and post form actions from GradPath to identify any errors on graduate student records; resolve any errors, working with Office of the Registrar, Bursar, etc., as needed.
    • Perform precision admissions, degree audit, and/or degree award tasks as needed daily.
    • Assist GrADS team with precision tasks during peak periods as needed.

    Graduate Program Training and Support:

    • Develop and distribute all external and internal communications on matters across the graduate student lifecycle from admissions through degree completion.
    • In collaboration with the Director of GrADS, develop and implement a training program for campus faculty and staff on the complexities of graduate admissions and degree completion processes.
    • Provide assistance to Director of GrADS in review and development of new and emerging graduate programs and partnerships.
    • Working with the Director of GrADS, communicate effectively with faculty and staff administering Graduate Programs within academic departments regarding business processes that impact departmental work.
    • Other duties that may be assigned depending on the business operations needs of the GrADS team.
