The Student Services Analyst uses independent evaluation and analysis to resolve complex issues and make sound decisions and recommendations. This position coordinates enrollment-related activities within a large Admissions, Registration, and Records office and plays a key role in supporting day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, and monitoring the work of part-time, temporary, and student employees, based on role. The role involves interpreting data and reports to address complex issues related to admissions, residency, records, graduation, athletic eligibility, and enrollment. The Analyst participates in Admissions & Records projects, conducts testing and training in the Student Information System (SIS) and reporting platforms, and works closely with students, parents, faculty, staff, administration, and the broader community. A strong emphasis is placed on providing excellent customer service while consistently "modeling the way" for other employees. This position also provides leadership and coordination for assigned areas such as student records, athletic eligibility, graduation processing, transcript evaluation, dynamic forms, staff training, and supervision of part-time support. The work involves administering policies and procedures, analyzing systems and data, troubleshooting issues, and developing strategies to improve efficiencies and meet departmental goals.

This is a short-term assignment with a projected end date of 06/30/2027 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD.

Essential Functions

30% - Performs operational planning, program management, evaluation, and administration. This includes problem resolution and technical assistance in the areas of graduation processing, athletic eligibility, and/or transcript evaluation.

20% - Reviews program requirements criteria to evaluate and determine eligibility; and/or evaluates policy to determine and ensure compliance. Researches program opportunities, industry standards, trends, best practices, emerging technologies, and makes recommendations for implementation. Coordinates, implements, and evaluates processes and procedures.

20% - Implements program outreach and/or recruitment and retention activities. Designs, develops, maintains and delivers program resource information, presentations, reports, correspondence, and promotional material. Conducts surveys and/or analyzes and maintains program data to gauge program effectiveness.

20% - Performs various reporting functionalities within the National Student Clearinghouse. Serves as a program and customer liaison, providing program and policy advisement and related information. Monitors and coordinates the provision of information and technical assistance regarding applicable laws, policies, rules and regulations. Creates and maintains files, records and databases.

10% - Plans, organizes, and assigns the work of part-time staff when serving as a lead worker. Assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
