Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Compliance, the Student Services and Strategic Initiatives Coordinator provides leadership, guidance, and direction to the sixteen technical colleges on matters relating to student affairs, staff development, compliance, and strategic initiatives. Specific duties include: Provide technical and consultative resource assistance and support in student affairs (e.g., special events, development and maintenance of training and professional development materials, assistance in student issues and grievances, dissemination of information). Coordination of professional development opportunities and other strategic initiatives including specialized workshops, webinars, or trainings, fostering new projects or partnerships, and dissemination of information to external partners/stakeholders. Assist with the coordination of compliance reviews, to include participation in on-site college reviews, data collection and review, and making recommendations as appropriate. Responsible for departmental administrative duties, including but not limited to the development of annual reports related to student services, strategic initiatives, and other relevant topics and distribution of information. Serve as staff liaison to postsecondary institutions, state agencies, and educational organizations for student affairs and compliance projects and issues in the SC Technical College System.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelors degree and relevant program experience.
Must possess excellent written and oral skills and the ability to work well with a variety of professionals from the education and business communities. Possess general knowledge of two-year postsecondary education, including latest developments in student affairs and be able to apply such knowledge to the application of policies, procedures, and projects. Be proficient in utilizing technology to drive efficiency and streamline processes. Successful candidates will be an energetic self-starter with strong attention to detail, demonstrate effective organizational skills, the ability to handle confidential matters, and have experience working at a technical college. Preferred Qualifications
A master's degree and experience working with the design, development, and evaluation of activities and materials related to student affairs in a postsecondary educational setting.
